Platform in online upload tool launch
Platform has introduced a document upload facility with the aim of speeding up online mortgage applications for brokers, the mortgage lender said.
The launch, by the Co-operative Bank's intermediary arm, will enable brokers to scan and upload documents, including verification and bank statements.
All uploaded documents will be directly assigned to the underwriter dealing with the specific application and will be fully trackable, according to Platform.
Lee Gladwell, business development director for Platform, said: "Our investment into the online application tracking service, clicktrack, should greatly improve brokers' working days and enable them to provide an even better level of service to their customers.
"Brokers will now be able to keep better track of applications, cut down on the amount of paperwork they have to keep and give detailed updates to clients about their applications."
Platform has invested into this improvement following broker feedback at recent Platform Live events. The events were held in seven locations in the south of England and arranged to provide approximately 70 intermediaries with the opportunity to offer feedback on Platform service, products and criteria.
Neil Stephens, head of mortgages for London-based Welbeck Group, said: "To be able to get documents to the right person and to underwriters quickly is a huge improvement. A quicker process in a readable format is of great benefit to clients, especially in the London market when there is a lot of pressure to get it done quickly."
