Aegon AM to launch UK absolute return fund
Aegon Asset Management is set to launch a UK absolute return fund, run by the UK equities team headed up by Stephen Adams, Investment Adviser understands.
An Aegon spokesperson confirmed the long/short Ucits III fund would be rolled out in the next few weeks and was not expected to exceed 10 per cent net long or short.
The launch follows the unveiling last week of the company's new global absolute return product, the Dublin-registered Aegon Global Opportunities fund, managed by a UK and Netherlands-based team headed up by Olaf Van den Heuvel.
Aegon's global fund will offer a discretionary global macro strategy investing in derivative and non-derivative assets.
These launches follow a raft of Ucits III products coming to the market, including the recent JO Hambro Investment Management fund launched under its Waverton brand, offering exposure to large caps.
Mr Adams manages the £158.4m UK Equity fund, which is currently first quartile over three and five years.
