A stake in the heart of Romania
I was amused to hear last week of Aegon's latest acquisition and the Romanian partner it will be working closely with in the future.
The company's most recent addition to the stable is the acquisition of a 50 per cent shareholding in Romanian pension business BT Aegon from Banca Transilvania, the region made famous by Bram Stoker's novel Dracula.
The acquisition of a stake in the heart of Romania will be accompanied by a new partnership that will help Aegon take more lives ... er, I mean, more of a share in the life insurance and pension market.
