Gartmore appoints Luke Newman to UK team
Gartmore has appointed Luke Newman as a portfolio manager on its UK team, where he will work alongside Ben Wallace on the recently launched UK Absolute Return and AlphaGen Octanis funds.
Over the past nine years, Mr Newman has held equity long-only and long/short fund-management roles at Deutsche Asset Management, Foreign & Colonial and, most recently, Altima Partners. Dominic Rossi, chief investment officer, said the appointment – Gartmore's sixth recent investment hire – would speed up the company's organic growth.
