ETF claims commodities gaining on equities so far this year
ETF Securities said commodities gained 40 per cent more than equities in the first half of 2008 and delivered four times their returns over the last 10 years.
The ETFS All Commodities basket rose 15.6 per cent during the second quarter of 2008 and 26.8 per cent during the first half of the year.
In the second quarter, energy ETCs posted the biggest outperformance. ETFS Natural Gas was up 72.7 per cent in the first two quarters and 29.5 per cent in the second.
