Pease, who joined the Henderson group after the acquisition of New Star, currently manages the £476.5m European Growth fund.

However, Henderson is now in the midst of developing a new fund for Pease, which will sit in the Special Situations sphere.

The fund will not be available imminently, rather it is pegged for launch in a few months time.

A spokesman for the Henderson Group said: "It is at the very early stages and is in the process of being developed and will be launched in the medium term."

The new Special Situations fund will be a smaller and according to the spokesman "more flexible" version of the £476.5m European growth fund.

The spokesman added: "Pease will look to invest in companies he believes are fundamentally sound, special situations stocks."
