Life and Pensions Three-Star Overview
Suffolk Life will be disappointed to have dropped down two levels from last year's five-star category, recognizing excellence in service to the bottom of this year's three-star grouping which recognizes 'average' service.
Suffolk Life occupies eighth out of eight in this category so it is a major fall from grace particularly as it figured for two years running in the top category.
It is mostly the same names in this category as last year with only Clerical Medical raising its game to enter the three-star category from the two-star list for 2008 and only Aegon Scottish Equitable climbing out of the three-star rankings into the level above.
Royal Liver and Aviva drop down from the level above to share top spot with LV= (Liverpool Victoria). LV= will gain some consolation from the fact that it has improved its standing from last year, moving to the top of the list from fifth place in 2008.
In all there are eight providers deemed to be offering only an average service this time round. In addition to those companies already mentioned, The Children's Mutual, Scottish Provident and Canada Life still remain from last year's list.
