Who said the world of pensions was all about grey men in grey suits coming up with convoluted policies? Just take retiring pensions guru, Stewart Ritchie as a case in point.

Despite a career spanning 36 years in UK pensions, Mr Ritchie does not quite live up to the image of the staid actuary. Pictured is the great man himself standing at ease and for those wondering what he is wearing: yes, Mr Ritchie is indeed kitted out in nothing less than a pair of leather trousers.

What makes this picture even more impressive is the fact that these are the same leather trousers he wore as a student at Warwick University almost 40 years ago. Ritchie is living proof that pensions experts are the ones who truly appreciate the implications of longevity.
