Universities have skills repsonibilities, warns CBI

Universities must play a key role in providing students with the skills that make them suitable for the workforce, the Confederation of British Industry has warned.

The CBI believes that many universities work well with employers to design courses that equip graduates with the right skills.

The call comes before the government is due to publish results in October from a consultation with higher education providers and business on how to arm graduates with the skills demanded by employers.
