Sons know best, about annuities at least

Mum knows best, people say, But sometimes they do not, as MetLife’s Mike Farrell found out.

The executive vice president for Metlife's independent distribution group in the US didn't realise how well its annuities product was being plugged until he received a phone call from his mum.

She said some MetLife representatives had been round promoting the benefits of taking out an annuity plan. Chuckling to himself, Mr Farrell told his mum to turn to the last page of the information pack. To her surprise, she found a beaming picture of her son. A resounding muted response was her reply, apparently.
