A client sold just a mortgage, with no discussion around their needs to protect their mortgage payments or indeed their lives, has not got full service from a broker, according to Stephen Smith, director of housing at Legal & General.

Mr Smith said: “Clients should enter their new home knowing that if the worst happened, they and their families can continue to have a roof over their heads.”
