Ageas Protect MD to step down
Ageas Protect has begun searching for a new managing director after Martin Werth announced he was stepping down.
A statement from Ageas UK said Mr Werth, who has been with the insurer for five years, would leave the role at the end of this year.
Mr Werth said: “It has been an exhausting and exhilarating five years. The business is in really good shape and there is a fantastic team in place to take it onto the next stage of its development. I will be taking a well earned break before looking at new opportunities.”
Barry Smith, chief executive of Ageas UK, said: “We are sorry that Mr Werth is moving on and would like to thank him for his significant contribution in helping establish Ageas Protect as a real presence in the market.
“The company has grown into a strong, customer focused business in a short space of time and we look forward to continuing to develop the business further as we roll out our products further across the protection market.”
Darren Spriggs, currently operations director, has been named as acting MD until a replacement is found.
