Swiss & Global adds sterling class to Absolute Return
Swiss & Global Asset Management has launched a sterling share class for its €145.6m (£120.7m) Julius Baer Absolute Return Europe Equity fund.
The fund, which was launched in September 2010, is managed by Andy Kastner and follows a market-neutral, long-short, pair-trading strategy of 25 to 40 stock pairs.
Keith Rumbelow, head of UK sales at Swiss & Global said: “The sterling share class is an important step in providing UK investors’ access to our outperforming JB Absolute Return Europe Equity Fund.
“The fund has been able to deliver strong performance and notably low volatility despite the tough economic backdrop.”
Armstrong Investment Management has invested in the new share class through its flagship Distinction Diversified Real Return fund.
James de Bunsen, portfolio manager at Armstrong said: “Lead portfolio manager Andy Kastner has extensive experience running market-neutral strategies and combines a strong research capability with a very robust risk management process. This approach allows the team to show conviction in their pair trades, thereby generating attractive returns, while controlling overall portfolio volatility.”
