Management consultant Mr Pilgrim first joined Cofunds in July last year, charged with developing a new sales and marketing strategy for the firm.

The temporary appointment comes amid a period of restructuring and turnover in the Cofunds sales team.

In August 2010 the group merged its sales and marketing departments. Nick Godfrey, head of sales, and Mr Rose, who was national sales manager, both left the platform as part of the changes. Ian Meredith assumed the role of regional head of sales at the time.

Then in December last year Andy Coleman joined Cofunds as head of sales for its wealth and investor channels, as Mr Meredith announced he was leaving the group after seven years.

Cofunds said last week that it was hiring new staff in sales. The platform said five new roles have been approved and “recruitment is underway”.

The group has advertised for a new head of non-advised sales. Investment Adviser understands that this reflects a decision by the group to try to boost its presence in the execution-only platform market.

Alastair Conway remains as sales and marketing director at Cofunds. Former national sales manager Mr Rose now works at Novia.
