Keith Richards, distribution and development director, said despite the obvious priority to achieve the level four qualification for the retail distribution review, Tenet has confirmed the training schedule incorporates an equally-important focus on transitional support, continuous professional development and business generation.

He said “The RDR will inevitably be the centre of attention, but it is also important that IFAs are supported in their everyday activities and business focus.

“Although we are all in a state of transition and increasing preparedness for RDR, many new commercial opportunities will be presenting themselves and we aim to educate and equip advisers to take advantage.”

Tenet has organised a series of 130 forums, roadshows and workshops at 17 different locations, covering a range of topics from compliance, investment and regulations to mortgages, protection and retirement.

Mr Richards said 18 roadshows would be dedicated to the advice requirements after the RDR to help advisers better understand the choices that face them on whether to develop an independent advice strategy, or follow a restricted path.

A further 130 dates have also been confirmed on the training front, dominated by qualifying and gap-fill events.

These will be supplemented by a selection of mortgage and protection and equity release courses, as well as more than 90 days of exam training and supervisor tuition.
