Aviva Investors appoints interim CEO
Aviva Investors appoints Paul Abberley as interim chief executive to replace Alain Dromer.
Aviva Investors has appointed of Paul Abberley as interim chief executive to replace Alain Dromer.
Mr Dromer stepped down in April, as the group’s parent company Aviva announced it was restructuring to bring in a “flatter” organisational structure to “simplify and bring more focus to the business”.
Mr Dromer’s departure also came after Aviva Investors earlier this year said it was slashing its London headcount and shifting to focus more on institutional clients.
Mr Abberley joined the group in September 2008 as chief executive of Aviva Investors London and in August 2011 he took on the additional responsibility of the global investment solutions division.
Patrick Regan, chairman at Aviva Investors and chief financial officer at Aviva, said Mr Abberley’s appointment as interim chief executive would “facilitate a smooth transition” following the departure of Mr Dromer.
He said: “Over the coming months we will be working through the process of recruiting a permanent CEO and will be considering both internal and external candidates for this role.”
