Friends links Protect+ with medical service
Friends Life has launched a microsite for advisers using the Protect+ service to connect them with medical referral service Best Doctors.
Steve Casey, head of intermediary propositions at Friends Life, said the microsite provides further detail on the additional services that Friends Life has made available for those customers diagnosed with a serious medical condition.
The advice includes information on how the service works, facts and figures to show the effect it has and case studies.

“This is a valuable addition to our Protect+ product range, which includes critical illness, income protection and all of our term assurance products, and underlines our commitment to providing customers with the best services to assist them in difficult times.”
Brian Tabor, director of Hertfordshire-based CareMatters, said: “A service such as Best Doctors adds a lot of value to a product and service for the client.
“The huge advantage is that often medicals can be done in a client’s home. Clients often do not like having to take time off to go and see their GP.
“It can help move cases along and the cost is borne by the insurer. Often I find the arrangement and conduct of the medical is good. In some cases, I find it can be bureaucratic where there are major changes.”
