L&G strengthens ties with building societies
Legal & General has announced the renewal of strategic partnerships with Nationwide Building Society and Progressive Building Society.
L&G will continue to distribute life cover products, including critical illness, through Nationwide’s 1000-strong team of advisers in the collaboration which began in 2008.
The L&G Mortgage Club has also continued its partnership with Northern Ireland-based Progressive, extending its range of mortgage products to the mutual’s directly authorised firms.
Chris Last, managing director of bank and building society distribution for L&G, said: “Nationwide is a key strategic partner for us and I am delighted that we will continue to be its chosen partner provider for both savings and protection.”
Martyn Smith, head of mortgage products for the mortgage club, said: “We are committed to our member firms having access to the widest possible range of mortgage products on the best possible terms. Progressive has strong local knowledge and is committed to quality products and excellent service.”
Declan Moore, head of sales and marketing for Progressive, said: “This new agreement strengthens the strategic partnership we already have with L&G to deliver the best possible solutions for adviser firms and their customers.”
Steve Laird, certified financial planner for Belfast-based Carrington Wealth Management, said: “We stopped offering mortgage advice some time ago but all my mortgage contacts complain of a lack of deals in the Northern Irish market. So this extension to Progressive’s directly authorised firms can only be a good thing, and should give much more choice.”
