IFA Life signals interest to enter platform market
Adviser networking site seeks member input through online survey on potential wrap launch
A major IFA networking site has indicated an interest in launching a platform for financial advisers.
In an email sent to IFA Life members today (14 June), users were asked in a survey about their platform use if they had an interest in using a wrap service launched by IFA Life.
“Given that wrap usage is a key industry issue, and one that is discussed at length on our site, we’re keen to get a very thorough understanding of our users’ needs in this area so that we can provide resources and support over the coming months and years,” said Philip Calvert, founder of IFA Life. “Depending on the outcome of our survey, that might include our own platform offering, built in partnership with a leading provider.”
In the survey, users were asked a number of questions about primary and secondary platform use, including what tools they found most useful.
One of the questions put to advisers asked, “Would you consider using a platform provided by IFA Life if it met your key platform requirements?”
The email, sent by Calvert, said the company was gathering opinion from advisers “with a view to developing new resources for IFA Life users over the coming months”.
It continued by asking advisers how likely they would be to switch platforms and the average client size on platforms.
