Tina Weeks in search for IFA talent
After months of searching and several interviews with potential candidates, Tina Weeks has hired an adviser who will join her firm, Serenity Financial Planning, in August.
Ms Weeks, who co-founded the North London IFA, said Caroline Keegan, a chartered and certified financial planner from Yorkshire, was perfect for the job.
She said: “We interveiwed loads of people and it’s exciting that we found Ms Keegan because we are so particular and fussy about who we take on. If we can’t find the right people I would rather not take anyone on.
“She is perfect. She is already doing the kinder life planning training, she is highly experienced and she’s lovely.”
Ms Weeks said Ms Keegan previously worked for a large national firm and was looking for something that was a better fit for the way she works.
She said: “She seems to have a lot of experience in dealing with older clients and estate planning requirements and tends to do more complicated pieces of work.”
However, Ms Weeks is still on the hunt for more IFAs to join Serenity who are experienced and have clients and can generate new ones.
She said: “They must have interest in life planning. Even if they are not qualified to level four they must be able to get there by the end of th year.”
Ms Weeks also said any candidate must be able to “slot into” the a “forward-thinking firm with a ready-made client proposition”.
She said: “We have advertised that we are looking to hire and have had loads of interest, but not from the sort of people we need who are client-focused, accept the retail distribution review and are forward-thinking advisers.”
