Mr Morrison has spent 22 years at Axa, where he was head of pensions development.

In his new role, Mr Morrison will be responsible for leading the promotion of AJ Bell’s Sippcentre platform at industry events and conferences.

Andy Bell, chief executive of the firm, said: “AJ Bell has grown to a level where we have more than £16bn of client funds under administration and I still see many further exciting opportunities for us to explore.

“Mr Morrison will bring a huge amount of experience to the Senior Team at a time where we look to continue to develop our platform proposition.”

Mr Morrison said: “The management team, its achievements and the manner in which AJ Bell manages the business has impressed me.

“I look forward to contributing to the continued development and success of the group.”

Paul Riddell, head of strategic communications at Axa Wealth, said: “Mr Morrison is highly respected in the industry and is an accomplished writer and presenter on all things pensions.

“He has made an invaluable contribution to Axa Wealth over the years, and we all wish him every success.”
