Royal London appoints FSCS non-exec director to board
Three non-executive appointments include FSCS non-executive director and chief executive of NS&I.
The Royal London Group has filled out its board with the appointment of three new non-executive directors.
The appointments of Jane Platt, Kathryn Matthews and David Weymouth have all been approved by the Financial Services Authority and are effective immediately.
Ms Platt is currently chief executive and director of savings for National Savings and Investments. She was previously chief operating officer for customer segments at the Reuters Group and chairman and chief executive of Barclays Stockbrokers.
At the Royal London Group she will sit on the audit, board risk and nomination committees.
Ms Matthews was previously chief investment officer for Asia Pacific excluding Japan for Fidelity International. She has also held positions William M Mercer, Axa Investment Managers, Santander Global Advisers and Baring Asset Management.
At Royal London, Ms Matthews will lead the Investment Committee and sit on the nomination and remuneration committees.
Mr Weymouth is currently group operations and risk director of RSA Insurance Group. Prior to this he held positions at Deloitte Consulting and a 28-year stint at Barclays. He is also a non-executive director of the Financial Services Compensation Scheme.
Mr Weymouth will sit on the board risk, investment and nomination committees at the Royal London Group.
