Distribution Technology unveils tracking service app
Advisers can now recommend the app to clients who are keen to keep tabs on their portfolios, even if they cannot maintain close contact with their IFAs.
The My Planning app will allow IFAs to pass on a tracking service to clients in exchange for an ongoing advice fee, giving them access to a personal balance sheet and information on their portfolios. Investors can also track the risk rating of individual funds and of their overall portfolio.
The service can also offer a holistic overview of the client’s other financial arrangements and a direct email service so they can get in touch with their adviser.
The app, currently only available on the Apple iPad, is available to download free from the App Store but requires the adviser to activate a customer access licence for the customer to use.
Ben Goss, chief executive of Distribution Technology, said: “We have developed the My Planning apps in response to requests from clients over the last 18 months, to help them deliver low-cost digital servicing capabilities ahead of the retail distribution review.
“It has become clear that after they complete their segmentation, many firms are deciding that they cannot continue to service the majority of their client bank, especially those with less than £100,000 invested. My Planning apps changes that for them.”
