Schroders launches offshore EM debt funds

Schroders has launched three offshore emerging market bond funds to be run by managers in their US and Singapore offices.

The Schroder ISF Emerging Market Sovereign Bond fund will be managed using a team-based approach led by James Barrineau and supported by Alexander Moseley, Fernando Grisales and Chris Tackney. The fund will be managed out of the group’s US office.

The same team will also run the ISF Emerging Markets Bond fund which will be a blend of the sovereign bond fund and the ISF Emerging Market Corporate Bond fund, which will be managed by Rajeev de Mello from the Singapore office.

Schroders appointed Mr de Mello from Legg Mason subsidiary Western Asset Management in June last year.

Mr Barrineau, Mr Grisales and Mr Moseley were hired from California-based Ice Canyon in May this year. Mr Tackney joined in June.

The funds were launched on July 11.
