Premier’s Weldon exits amid corporate restructure
Premier Asset Management reshuffles sales and marketing team as it prepares for new marketing push.
Simon Weldon is to leave Premier Asset Management at the end of July as the Guildford-based fund manager shakes up its senior management team.
Mr Weldon is head of sales and marketing at Premier, and has been with the firm for 15 years. Premier chief executive Mike O’Shea said Mr Weldon had left by mutual agreement.
IFA sales director Mike Hammond will take over as head of sales for Premier’s multi-asset and private client businesses, while Alan Glendon, currently head of wholesale sales, will take over fund sales. Corrine Collier will lead the marketing team.
Mr O’Shea said: “Simon has made a considerable contribution to Premier and to the executive management of the business and leaves the company well positioned to capitalise on the strong performance delivered by the investment teams.
“I would like to thank Simon for his considerable contribution to Premier and wish him well for the future.”
Premier runs 25 retail funds, including Chris White’s £307.7m Premier Income fund and the firm’s four multi-asset funds, managed by a team led by David Hambidge.
Mr O’Shea said there were no planned changes to the fund range, but said he was keen to increase marketing of the firm’s products
