London & Capital promotes Morilla-Giner to CIO

Current CIO will remain with the independent wealth management firm as investment director.

London & Capital has appointed Pau Morilla-Giner as chief investment officer, replacing Ashok Shah.

Mr Shah, who has worked closely with Mr Morilla-Giner over the course of the last eighteen months in managing the transition, will remain with the firm as investment director.

Mr Morilla-Giner joined London & Capital as head of equities, commodities and alternative investments’ in 2008, having started his career in investment with JPMorgan Asset Management in Madrid and New York.

As chief investment officer, Mr Morilla-Giner will remain lead manager on London & Capital’s suite of equities and commodities funds, and will also be responsible for the development of the firm’s macroeconomic views, providing the framework for asset allocation and investment decisions. .

Mr Morilla-Giner said: “This is a very exciting time for London & Capital. Over the last few years Ashok and I have worked closely together to bring the capital preservation philosophy – London & Capital’s very DNA - to the heart of the investment process.

“We have continued to invest in our highly sophisticated risk management capabilities, which we believe truly differentiates us in terms of our ability to manage the downside and means we can deliver when it matters most.
