London & Capital promotes Morilla-Giner to CIO
Wealth manager hands chief investment officer role to its head of equities, commodities and alternatives.
London & Capital has made its head of equities, commodities and alternatives Pau Morilla-Giner its new chief investment officer.
Mr Morilla-Giner, who joined the group in 2008, will remain lead manager on the company’s equities and commodities funds but will now also be responsible for the development of the firm’s macro-economic views, asset allocation and investment decisions.
He replaces Ashok Shah, who joined London & Capital in 2002 after 29 years with Old Mutual, where he was latterly head of emerging markets.
Mr Shah, who has worked closely with Morilla-Giner over the past 18 months in managing the transition, will remain with the firm as investment director.
“Succession planning in firms of our size is critical to the stability and continuing growth of the business,” Mr Shah said.
