Franklin Templeton to launch Brazil multi asset fund
Franklin Templeton set to launch multi-asset Brazil fund
Franklin Templeton is to launch its first specialist Brazilian fund, investing in both equities and bonds.
The Franklin Brazil Opportunities fund is domiciled in Luxembourg and managed by Stephen Dover, who is based in Franklin Templeton’s California head office, and Marco Freire and Frederico Sampaio, both based in Sao Paolo.
Mr Dover runs the $1.2bn (£765m) Franklin India fund. Mr Freire is Franklin Templeton’s chief investment officer for Brazilian fixed income, while Mr Sampaio holds the same role for Brazilian equities.
Mr Dover said the fund aimed to obtain much of its returns from income, while also targeting sustainable returns with low volatility.
Franklin Templeton is seeking FSA approval to market the fund to UK investors.
The fund features an annual management charge of 1.5 per cent and requires a minimum investment of $5,000 or equivalent.
