Saxo adds model portfolios to platform

Saxo Bank’s direct-to-consumer platform Modern Wealth Management has added model portfolio services to its proposition.

Karsten Henriksen, head of modern wealth management for the UK market, said investors would be able to determine their risk profile using a tool called Ideator, and would then have a model portfolio created by Morningstar Investment Consultants to match the findings.

The portfolios can be accessed through Isa and self invested personal pension accounts that are provided by European Pensions Management, as well as through general investment accounts on the MWM platform.

Mr Henriksen said: “We are excited to offer our clients diversified model portfolios with funds and ETFs as an extra service free of charge.

“This is pure added value for clients who find it a challenge to build portfolios from scratch, and are faced with a choice of more than 3000 funds, unit trusts and ETFs to choose from.”

“To ensure the portfolios are unbiased we have appointed Morningstar Investment Consultants as our advisors. As per our mantra - Your Wealth. Your Way - investors can either invest in the portfolios as they are or use them as a starting point and adjust them to fit their individual needs.

“This is another important step to meeting our clients’ needs by providing simple, easy to use tools and transparent fees and guidance for those who want to take charge of their own investments.”

The MWM platform was launched in the UK in March 2012 by Danish-owned Saxo Bank.
