Preston IFA buys client book of Southport adviser
Preston-based IFA firm M.R. Financial Services has bought the client book of a Southport advisory firm to help it expand across the region.
Andrew Mackie, director of M.R. Financial Services, took over client responsibility for Maureen Marsh Financial Planning and said the move was a boost for Southport’s professional services.
He said Ms Marsh is a well-known local businesswoman, who has been an independent financial adviser in Southport since 1986. She will be handing her clients over to M.R. Financial Services during a phased retirement.
Ms Marsh said: “It is with mixed feelings that I will be leaving the world of financial advice after 26 enjoyable years. I love working with people and have always had an interest in finance so running my business has been an enjoyable time.
“However, after long and careful consideration I now feel it is in the best interests of our clients to entrust them into new and capable hands. I look forward to seeing how Mr Mackie and the team at M.R. Financial Services grows the Southport office with the extra resources it has behind them.”
Mr Mackie added: “In turbulent economic times, the appetite for professional financial advice is high. My team and I have grown a trusted client base in the Preston area and I look forward to developing the same trust and relationships in Southport.

The M.R. Financial Services office will be based on Hoghton Street, Southport.
