Four Capital to launch global equity fund

Equity boutique set to add fourth fund to range in September.

Four Capital Partners is seeking investors for a low-volatility global equity fund launch.

The strategy will first launch as a segregated portfolio next month, with the group planning to open a fund at a later date.

The group’s wider Active Global strategy already includes the £13.5m Four Active Global Income & Growth fund, launched in April 2011.

The fund will be invested in “the most robust businesses, with low cyclicality, low capital requirements and strong balance sheets”, according to Colin McQueen, head of Four Capital’s global equity team.

Mr McQueen said: “If we simply assume that the underlying companies [within the fund] can grow earnings and cash flow in line with the consumer prices index, we should be able to achieve a real return of 8 per cent over time.”

James Southern, sales director, said demand for the new fund had been driven primarily by institutional investors, but confirmed the product would have a retail share class. The fund’s annual management charge was likely to be in line with its existing funds at 1.5 per cent, with a minimum investment of £10,000.

It will be domiciled in Dublin as part of Four Capital’s Ucits-compliant fund range.

Four Capital’s existing funds include the £82.1m Active UK Equity fund, launched in 2007, and the £8.4m Active European Ex-UK Equity fund, launched in April 2011.
