Former Architas chief investment officer Richard Philbin has joined Hampshire-based Hasley Investment Management as a partner.

Mr Philbin, who left Architas in December 2010, will take over management of the 23m Elite Hasley multi-strategy fund.

The firm said it will also launch three risk-rated fund of funds alongside the existing multi-strategy fund, which will see a name change as it becomes part of a suite of four risk-rated funds this autumn.

Prior to joining Architas, Mr Philbin ran F&C Asset Management’s multi-manager range.

Elsewhere, Hasley has appointed Alastair George to take on the management of the group’s £4.4m Best Ideas and £8.6m Diversifier funds.

Mr George will be based in Switzerland and will combine management of Hasley’s funds with Infinite Variance SA, an asset management and investment research firm he founded.
