Legg Mason shifts offshore funds to IMA sectors

Legg Mason has moved 17 of its offshore funds into IMA sectors and plans to shift further funds into the sectors in due course.

The 17 funds are spread across eight IMA peer groups and include the $1bn (£630m) Legg Mason Brandywine Global Fixed Income fund and the $745m Legg Mason Western Asset Asian Opportunities fund.

Adam Gent, Head of UK sales at Legg Mason, said: “The inclusion of these offshore funds into the IMA sector classification system will enable advisers to compare some of our key strategies with UK equivalents on a like-for-like basis for the first time.”
