Barings appoints replacement for Nangle
Fund manager brings in investment strategist to bolster multi-asset team.
Baring Asset Management has appointed Christopher Mahon to its £7bn multi-asset team, as director of asset allocation research.
Mr Mahon, who joins in September from South African fund manager Momentum Global Investment Management, is a direct replacement for Toby Nangle who joined Threadneedle as head of their multi-asset division in January 2012.
In his new role he will be a part of the team responsible for multi-asset investment at Barings, which includes the £213m Baring Multi Asset fund, run by Andrew Cole and Percival Stanion.
Mr Mahon report to Mr Stanion, head of Barings’ global multi-asset group, and sit on the firm’s macro research and asset allocation committee.
In May Barings launched the Asia Dynamic Asset Allocation fund for head of Asian multi-asset Khiem Do, trading in equities, bonds, currencies, commodities, derivatives and property.
