Panel debate: How important is cash management?

Against a backdrop of ultra-low interest rates, choppy equities markets and rock bottom bond yields, investors are increasingly seeking safe havens.

Arguably no haven is more safe than cash, especially giving the relative parsimony of bond investments on a risk/return basis in the current market, but yet advisers have historically seemingly paid little heed to products designed to optimise client cash holdings.

Debating the various products available and how advisers should approach cash management was a panel comprising Peter Beavis, sales director at Cater Allen, Adrian Lowcock, senior investment adviser at Bestinvest and Nick Rice, editor of Investment Adviser.
