Axa’s Wilmont to join BNY subsidiary Alcentra
European debt manager to join US-based high yield specialist on November 1.
Axa Investment Managers’ former head of European high yield is to join high yield debt specialist Alcentra.
Andrew Wilmont, who left Axa in August, is to lead the European high yield team at the BNY Mellon subsidiary when he joins on November 1.
As well as hiring Mr Wilmont, Alcentra yesterday announced it was taking on the high yield debt team from fellow BNY Mellon subsidiary Standish Mellon Asset Management.
Alcentra runs institutional mandates and has offices in New York and Boston in the US.
James Gledhill, Axa’s global head of high yield, took over the management of Axa’s £97.1m Global High Income fund, £29.6m Pan European High Yield Bond fund and $315.2m (£201.3m) Global High Yield Bond fund from Mr Wilmont, having become co-manager in July.
