Colin Ng leaves Barings

Korea fund manager takes over as head of Asian equities.

Baring Asset Management head of Asian equities Colin Ng has left the firm and been replaced by Hyung Jin Lee.

Mr Lee has also taken over management of the £35.6m Baring Eastern fund and the offshore $96.9m (£59.6m Baring Asia Growth fund. He currently runs the £168.8m Baring Korea fund, which has gained 38.2 per cent over three years according to Morningstar.

The Eastern fund lagged the IMA Asia ex Japan sector over five years to September 14, losing 1.8 per cent compared with a sector average gain of 28.3 per cent.
