Every day, there are new technologies being created. The easiest way to keep in touch with clients is through your website. But not all advisers are using the opportunity as best they can. Here, Money Management gives five simple tips on how to make your company website more appealing.

1. Make it more accessible. Look at your website with new eyes. Try to imagine you were a new client to your firm and see how easy it would be to navigate your way around.

2. Be up to date. If your website looks the same as it did in 1999, update it. You can get free templates for websites, or even hire a website designer. Newer designs make it easier to look around websites.

3. Interact. Perhaps blog on your website, keeping existing or new clients in the loop. Link to your twitter, or add a widget to your company profile. You could even create documents for clients to access online, such as what the annual Budget means for them.

4. Keep it simple. Don’t overload new or potential clients with information. They will be getting a lot from you in your first meetings anyway, so stick to the important basics.

5. Nice to meet you. Have an ‘about us’ section on your website. Some clients may like to know more about you and your team’s experience before picking up the phone to book their first appointment with you. It adds a personal touch.
