FTAdviser inaugural tax investing conference

Recent significant enhancements to the Venture Capital Trust (VCT) and Enterprise Investment Schemes (EIS) mean that companies with up to £15m in assets or up to 250 employees are eligible for investment.

This is allowing the schemes to target increasingly mainstream investments, while offering investors compelling levels of income tax relief. Meanwhile, the government has also launched the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) offering even more attractive tax relief for sophisticated clients.

In today’s world of 40 per cent higher-rate taxes and a 45 per cent top rate of income tax, these developments put such schemes higher than ever on the agenda for financial advisers looking to cater for their clients’ tax planning needs.

Meanwhile, the government has announced a freeze on the inheritance tax (IHT) threshold at £325,000 until 2019, creating the need for effective IHT planning solutions.

Faced with these developments, advisers are hungry for education, tips and product options in this area.

That’s why the Financial Times is bringing together VCT, EIS, SEIS and IHT planning providers with a selection of the UK’s leading intermediaries at our forthcoming tax planning event.
