Rowan Dartington has acquired Isle of Man-based online wealth platform Acordias, which the firm says will enable it to deliver its stockbroking and discretionary fund management services on a “global basis”.

The wealth platform Acordias supports the ‘international adviser community’ by providing an open architecture platform that offers funds and direct holdings in equities, structured products and many other investment instruments.

The acquisition provides Acordias with the infrastructure support and financial backing to push ahead with its “ambitious growth plans”, Rowan Dartington said.

Over the last three years, Rowan Dartington has opened branches in London, Chichester, Hereford, Weston-super-Mare, Exeter and Cheltenham. The firm said that in the last 12 months profits have grown by 300 per cent.

Graham Coxell, chairman of Rowan Dartington, said: “This is an important, and very exciting development for Rowan Dartington as this acquisition represents a significant step for our business as a leading investment services provider.

“It is the perfect opportunity to combine our stockbroking and investment management expertise with the existing, well-functioning technological framework that will allow us to expand our distribution base globally.”
