Unicorn Asset Management is looking to rename John McClure and Fraser Mackersie’s £28.3m Unicorn Free Spirit fund as the Unicorn UK Growth fund.

A spokesperson for the firm said it was considering changing the name on the fund to “better convey the fund’s investment ethos which is, and has always been, to find attractive opportunities for growth in UK equities”.

“All other aspects of the fund will remain the same, including the fund’s investment objective, investment strategy, manager, charges and terms,” the spokesperson added.

It comes after Unicorn recently announced its intention to launch a ‘special situations’ fund later this year, although the product is currently still in the planning stage.
