Revealed: The two best financial adviser websites

Key Retirement Solutions picked up the award for best large adviser firm website for the second consecutive year at last night’s FTAdviser Online Service Awards.

Following up its win in the inaugural year of the awards dedicated to advisers, Key’s website was said by judges including well known financial services consultants Michelle Hoskins and David Shelton to be “comprehensive... with something for both new and existing clients”.

St James’s Place was named as runner-up in the category, which was sponsored by Aviva.

In the small adviser category, covering firms with less than 20 employees, RJL IFA’s website was adjudged best with judges describing it as “eye catching”. The judges added it is “clear and simple” and “puts faces to the names and would reassure clients about who they were doing business with”.

Elevation Investment Management was highly commended in the category, which was sponsored by Skandia.

Held at Fabric night club in London last night (26 June), the awards ceremony recognised the best providers, advisers and networks for online service over the past year.

Those that made it onto the shortlist were those that most effectively explain their proposition, provide the best educational product material and, where appropriate, offer direct servicing capabilities.

In the networks category, Intrinsic was named network of the year in the year after it bought Positive Solutions last year from Aegon UK last year, and then was bought by Old Mutual Global Investors. Sense Network was highly commended.

Chapters Financial, Elevation Investment Management, Principal Financial Solutions, and Yellowtail were also shortlisted for small adviser firm, while Alan Boswell, Contractor Financials, Lifequote and Sterling McCall were shortlisted for large adviser.
