Talkwaker targets social media

The tool, which comes with software provided by Talkwaker, enables financial advisers to interrogate the social world in real-time and view findings from the last seven days.

According to Talkwalker, its social search facility provides access to current topics in social media conversations, together with tools to identify influencers and visualise metrics for socially shared content. Users can also benchmark their own marketing performance against competitors.

Christophe Folschette, the co-founder of Talkwalker, said: “Dramatic changes in the distribution of financial services, alongside the digital capabilities of vast numbers of IFA customers and prospects are provoking new conversations and prompting new attitudes. But the echo chamber of the social world is not a detached universe accessible solely to the digitally favoured. Easy to use services such as this will help the sector engage with and understand their customers.”

IFA verdict: Jaskarn Pawar, director of Northampton-based Investor Profile, said: “It is probably useful for those companies that rely heavily on social media for their marketing. If companies use social media primarily as a networking or content publishing platform then it is probably going to have less appeal.”
