Walker Crips Group has recorded a 28 per cent increase in its discretionary and advisory assets under management at June 30 2014 to £1.37bn, compared with £1.07bn in June the previous year.

In its interim management statement the financial services group highlighted a spate of hires in the three months to the end of June, recruiting seven investment managers “whose clients and revenues will have an impact in subsequent quarters”.

The figures also showed net group revenue for the group increased in the quarter by 12.2 per cent to £3.6m, it attributed the majority of this increase to net fees, which rose 20 per cent.

Looking ahead the group stated it maintains a strong financial position with more than £10m in net cash on its balance sheet, which it said was an important factor in “pursuing its growth plans organically and through suitable acquisitions”.
