Two more Sustainable Future funds from Alliance Trust Investments, announced in May, will be available to investors from July 23.

The two funds are the first to be launched since the Sustainable Future team joined Alliance Trust Investments in 2013 and bring the number of sustainable-focused risk-rated funds to five. The group has nine sustainable funds in total.

The Alliance Trust Sustainable Future Defensive Managed fund will hold 45 per cent in global equities, with the remainder in bonds and cash. While the Sustainable Future Cautious Managed fund will hold 60 per cent in global equities.

The whole range is risk profiled by Distribution Technology and ranges from risk profile 4 to risk profile 8.

The funds will be managed by the head of SRI Peter Michaelis as lead manager, assisted by Simon Clements as co-fund manager and Stuart McMaster who will be in charge of the fixed income element of the portfolio.

Mr Michaelis said there had been “growing demand” from advisers for a risk-profiled ethical investment fund range.

“As SRI becomes ever more mainstream, IFAs are increasingly asked to recommend these types of funds,” he added.
