Ascentric has revealed that Jon Taylor, chief executive of Royal London, is to take over as managing director of the independent platform in January 2015.

He replaces Hugo Thorman, who will become chairman. Both appointments are subject to regulatory approval.

Mr Taylor said: “It is a very exciting time for me to be joining the company at a time of rapid growth for the business. I am also looking forward to working even more closely with Hugo.”

Ascentric, which is owned by Royal London, announced earlier this month that it had reached £8bn of assets under administration.
