Skandia has announced the 22 September 2014 as the date it will officially rebrand as Old Mutual Wealth.

The business first announced it would merge into a single business as Old Mutual Wealth in September 2012, but the firm have now released a firm date for the rebrand. Skandia has said it will write to investors in August to ensure that clients are aware of the name change.

Under the rebrand, the popular adviser platform Skandia Investment Solutions will not be replaced by an alternative brand name.

Instead, it will be referred to as ‘the platform’, ‘our platform’ or ‘Old Mutual Wealth’s platform’, depending on the context. It will, however, carry the Old Mutual branding.

A spokesperson for the firm said: “The rebranding began in September 2012. We announced it then and we knew at that time it would take a long time for it to change. We are now in the final stages of preparations.

“The platform won’t have a name in the same way as Novia, Nucleus and Cofunds don’t have a specific product name, but it will be branded as Old Mutual Wealth.
