Close Brothers Asset Management is repositioning its ‘at retirement’ offering to provide consumers with what it described as a more ‘holistic and structured’ choice ahead of next April’s annuity market reforms.

The new proposition includes advice to help align an individual’s need for income and access to capital both at and throughout retirement, the company said.

Representatives from the firm’s investment, adviser, intermediary and educational teams are involved in the project, which will include a range of seminars and support materials that will be rolled out in the final quarter of the year.

Martin Andrew, chief executive, said: “Gaining control of pension pots empowers people to manage their finances more effectively, but it also creates the need to actively plan for retirement.

“Pensions reform gives us the ideal opportunity to deploy our expertise in advice, investments and education to launch a focused ‘at retirement’ offering to help clients appreciate this flexibility and capitalise on their new-found choice.”

The educational seminars will be launched in the fourth quarter and are to include financial, lifestyle, ‘next generation’ and inheritance modules.
