Shamik Dhar, head of multi-asset research at Aviva Investors, has left the asset management industry.
Mr Dhar has left the company to become chief economist and director of economics for the Foreign Office.
He has been at Aviva since April 2010. He joined from Fathom Financial Consulting, which he co-founded in 2004.
A spokesperson from Aviva said: “We can confirm that Shamik Dhar is leaving Aviva Investors to pursue an opportunity outside fund management.
“We continue to enjoy a well resourced strategy team under Peter Fitzgerald, our head of multi-asset investing.”
Aviva Investors has not confirmed if it will replace Mr Dhar.
