Santander Asset Management has hired former Schroders bond manager Divya Manek in a move which reunites her with former colleagues.

Ms Manek joined Schroders in 2007 as a graduate trainee and became a fund manager in 2010 including on its Corporate Bond and Long Dated Corporate Bond funds.

Santander hired former Schroders bond manager Adam Cordery in May last year and David Scammell, who also previously worked at Schroders, in November.

The performance of the £120m Schroder Corporate Bond fund has improved recently with the fund top quartile in the IMA Sterling Corporate Bond sector in one year, compared to its third quartile performance in three years and bottom quartile returns in five, according to data from FE Analytics.

At Santander, she will be a fund manager in its global European fixed income team; focussing on European bond strategies. Based in London, Ms Manek will report to Mr Cordery, global head of European fixed income.
